"The drafts have been changed"/ Kapri: The Electoral Reform Commission

MP Erald Kapri stated that the vote to establish the Electoral Reform Commission was not the right action by the Assembly, as a change to the drafts occurred without even obtaining the approval of the small parties.

In his speech at today's plenary session, Kapri stated that the majority and the opposition cannot make all the decisions on their own.

Kapri emphasized that small parties in the Assembly have weight, as they represent 10% of Albanians.

 "There was nothing parliamentary in this vote. It is enough to compare the two drafts. I don't know where you got this practice. The drafts have been changed two or three times, as if some political bargaining is taking place.
You should have stopped it. Every party voted for by Albanians has the right to participate in the committee. You cannot take them all for yourself. They represent the vote of 10% of Albanians. There are dozens of delegations in this Parliament, but not a single new MP is in them.
Therefore, this was a missed opportunity. Democracy and this Parliament have been threatened, as the OSCE/ODIHR report emphasizes, which shared details that such a change cannot happen in this Parliament", said Kapri. /CNA
