Former Deputy Minister of Economy, Irena Beqiraj, reacted today regarding the prosecution of Democratic MP Belind Këlliçi for the opposition protest on February 10, despite being in the US.

Through a post on social media, Beqiraj writes that the proceedings would be normal if the organizers of the January 21, 2011 protest were also prosecuted.

According to the former deputy minister, there can be no justice when operating with double standards.

"I totally agree that Belind Këlliçi should be prosecuted as the organizer of the protest even though he was in the US, as long as the organizers of the January 21, 2011 protest, who were not in the US but in the Twin Towers restaurant, are also prosecuted with the same standard."
