DP against Marta Kos's statements: She is relying on Rama's false

The Democratic Party has reacted sharply to the statements of the European Union Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, regarding the tourist project in the Zvërnec area. In its position, the DP accuses the commissioner of having fallen prey to incorrect and manipulated information by the Albanian government.

According to the Democratic Party, Kos's statements do not reflect the difficult reality in which the country finds itself, but rather serve Prime Minister Edi Rama's attempt to give legitimacy to a contested project.

"Regarding the Declaration of the Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, Ms. Marta Kos, on the serious crisis that our country is going through, the Democratic Party expresses concern and emphasizes that it is based on false information presented by its friend Edi, and not on the existing reality in the country.

"That statement ignores the serious crisis that has gripped Albania and serves Edi Rama and not the solution to the crisis; on the contrary, it exacerbates and deepens it even more," the DP's response states.

Following this stance, the blue headquarters has reiterated its full support for the protests that have been taking place for more than two weeks in the capital. The Democratic Party emphasizes that the five demands articulated by the protesters are essential and the only condition for a peaceful solution to the current crisis that has gripped the country.

"The Democratic Party fully supports the 5 just demands of the protesters as conditions for a peaceful resolution of the crisis," the DP underlines.

This rhetorical clash comes at a time when Commissioner Marta Kos, during her stay in the region, stated that the EC has received guarantees from the Albanian authorities for the respect of environmental standards in the Zvërnec project./ CNA
