"The opposition must protest"/ Baci: Let's show the international

Democratic MP Luan Baçi said today that there are many ways through which an opposition protest can take place, but according to him, one of them is the reaction before the international community.

In a statement to the media shortly before the DP protest, Baçi emphasized that the democrats must express their revolt, sustained and powerful, in direct proportion to what the government does to the people.

"Every protest is always different from the other times. We are in a season of protests and the Democratic Party has said this since the beginning of the time, we have started successive and occasional protests. Powerful protest, sustainable protest, protest that as we said last time in the previous protest, it is the citizens who must decide. It is the citizens who must decide how they can and want to express their anger, their revolt, their annoyance, their reaction as citizens, powerful protesters against these injustices.

We are living in a very special situation, we are living in a situation other than the economic decline, the depopulation of the country, the miserable economic situation, the bankruptcy of small businesses, the bankruptcy of other medium or large businesses. We are also in a very special situation, when we have a corrupt government, when we have a former deputy prime minister and minister of energy under investigation as a defendant and we have her again as an MP and prime minister and a political leader in the Fier region, in that region where she came and committed successive crimes, electoral crimes, where the SPA should have also taken her as a defendant for electoral crimes, for vote theft, for vote manipulation, for blackmail, for pressure.

Today it continues to be free and to manipulate evidence. So, given such a situation, I think that Albanian citizens will know how to react, will know how to reflect, to express their revolt and anger as an angry people should express it. There are many ways and means in which an opposition should protest and should stand and should react to show the national and international opinion that the situation here is out of the ordinary. Protest is the most powerful tool that an opposition has at its disposal and it must be organized strongly. Of course, the form of the protest then, I said a little while ago and I always stand by it, should be a protest that the citizens themselves should decide.

The Democratic Party, in my opinion, the deputies, all the leaders, the exponents of the Democratic Party, should be on their side, at their forefront, but I am not always with the Democratic Party having the decision-making, the citizens having the decision-making on how they should react, how they should express their revolt, sustainable, powerful, why not be in fair proportion to what this government does to this people.

"Look, I have a question, how does a citizen react when a thief on the street puts his hands in his pocket and steals? In this situation, we Albanian citizens, the Albanian people, put our hands in our pockets and this government steals the taxes and duties that citizens pay. The reaction should be in direct proportion to the theft they commit against us," said Baçi. /CNA
