The elections held yesterday in the National Council of the Democratic Party led to new movements in the leadership structures.

Invited to the evening show on 'Syri TV', three of the newly elected deputy mayors, Belind Këlliçi, Nikola Kedhi and Erisa Bajaziti, discussed the details of the race among the Democrats.

In his speech, Këlliçi specified how the new division between the five vice presidents works.

"There are 5 vice presidents in total. There are 3 elected vice presidents and 2 ex officio. This is due to parliamentary functions, namely the president and vice president of the DP Parliamentary Group," said Këlliçi.

On the other hand, the other deputy leader Nikola Kedhi emphasized the role of the DP over the years, which he described as the political mechanism that has brought about radical changes in Albania.

"For 45 years of a bloody regime, such as the communist one, it was very easy to conform. The former persecuted are at home in the DP. Skeptics and conservatives have chosen the DP to be their home, not because they were promised something. Despite the criticisms we may have of the DP, this party has been the mechanism that has made radical changes in Albania," said Kedhi.

The new vice president of the Democratic Party, Erisa Bajaziti, explained her connection from life in the diaspora, to what she described as 'trusts', to making her political contribution in Albania.

"Not that I necessarily want to give it a flag or party side, but the commitment also has a family history, which comes as a legacy, of parents and grandparents. It is the legacy of all Albanians who have lived similar stories that makes you understand how difficult life Albanians had during the communist regime and when you see that the country continues to be governed with the same characteristics, there are reasons that make you contribute", said Bajaziti./CNA
