Over 5 million euros in 10 years/ Zhulali: The EU provides money for

Political expert, Ilda Zhulali, said today that despite the high-value funds allocated to the Western Balkan countries for interconnection infrastructure, Albania is still not in the right position in this sector.

Speaking about this issue on 'Syri Tv', Zhulali highlighted the 527 million euros given in the last decade to the six countries in the region, which, as he said, did not result in significant changes in the country.

"In the last 10 years, 527 million euros have been given to the six countries of the region, so that we can build an infrastructure that better connects our countries to each other, but also includes us in the European transport corridors, and makes the movement and interconnection of the countries of the region with Europe more vibrant and functional. Now, from all this money, 527 million euros, which is not a little, that the European Union has given, these auditors are looking at what has happened," said Zhulali.

Further, Zhulali raised questions about where this money went, while focusing on several infrastructure issues that raise doubts.

"This money has gone to build roads that are functional? Are they according to European standards, so you can drive on these speed lanes and be safe? Or does it happen, as happened in Albania, that roads collapse six months, a year after they were built, or even in the construction process, as we saw a few months ago where the entire entrance to the country was blocked due to road collapses," Zhulali said./CNA
