The next meeting of the Albanian government was held this Wednesday afternoon, during which important decisions were made in two areas.  

The Minister of Economy and Innovation, Delina Ibrahimaj, announced the signing in principle with Poland on social security.  

 "Today, a draft decision was passed, approving in principle the social security agreement with Poland, which brings the number to 17 and 11 with EU countries. It has been a problem that has been going on for years, as the number of Albanians living and working there is high. It is for the recognition of paid years of social security," said Ibrahimi.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Finance, Petrit Malaj, announced that during today's meeting, three necessary changes were proposed to the financial system, to the 'law on the payment system', the 'law on payment services', and the 'law on banks in the Republic of Albania'.

"We have proposed 3 laws related to the financial system in Albania. Specifically, we have proposed changes to the law on the payment system, the law on payment services and the law on banks in the Republic of Albania. They aim not only to modernize the financial system in the country, but also to serve the entire legal framework in harmony with EU directives. They also serve the framework of negotiations. Among the proposed changes there are also benefits for citizens and businesses," Malaj said. /CNA
