"'Open Balkans' was described as a 'terrible idea' because Vučić and I were behind it"/ Rama: The EU needs us
Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke in an interview with Euronew...
The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, participated today in the proceedings of the General Assembly of IDC-CDI, the center-right political organization, where he serves as Vice President.
Berisha, in an interview with Syri TV, stated that he has proposed the creation of a working group on organized crime and drug cartels in Albania and the world.
Berisha stated that his proposal was welcomed and the IDC-CDI will create a working group that will collect facts on what he describes as "a narco-state and the direct links of the Albanian government with drug cartels and crime."
“The general assembly of the Center Democratic International, the world's largest organization of center and center-right political parties, has just ended. And I believe its proceedings were extremely important. In these proceedings, fundamental issues of democracy, human rights, but also important issues of organization, as well as contemporary aspects of technology, artificial intelligence and others, were addressed. In the meetings I had and in the speech I gave, I have focused entirely on what is a dramatic situation, an authoritarian dictatorship of the government, emphasizing that Albania, which was under a criminal organization, under its patron, an organization that truly accepts pluralism, but suppresses it with all kinds of illegalities.
It arrests political leaders of the opposition, convicts political opponents, organizes electoral farces, has turned the elections into a real electoral farce. But in particular, this government is a criminal organization because it is linked head to toe with the most dangerous drug cartels in Europe and the United States. In my speech, I dwelled extensively on the Albanian narco-state, I brought out only one aspect of this narco-state, the narco-euro. Albania today is the country of overvaluation of the euro. This currency, one of the strongest in the world, has been devalued at an incredible rate of up to 22%. And this is thanks to the gigantic illegal flow of drug money. So, Albania today is the main exporter of cannabis in Europe.
Its drug cartels are the main exporters of cocaine to Europe and other destinations. They have open ports in Albania, where not a single kilogram of drugs has been seized for five years. They administer the drug trafficking routes in Albania, decide on the laws of the country, and the prime minister is in fact their godfather. In my speech, I also had the opportunity to emphasize the protest of the new generation and citizens that took place in Tirana, which is entirely an anti-dictatorial protest.
I also stopped at the 'Albanian File'. If we weigh it against his 523 projects, it shows that he behaved like a sultan of past centuries, considering Albania his fiefdom and giving it to the most dangerous drug cartels, the most valuable areas of the country, to develop with drug money.
"Recently, it has removed a large number of them from protected areas, only in the interest of these cartels. I can say that my appearance here in this assembly was received with a truly special interest. I asked for the creation of a working group near the assembly, on organized crime and drug cartels in Albania and in the world. And this suggestion of mine was welcomed by its president, Mr. Pastrana. So, I think that this trip was valuable and useful for Albania, because the more the world knows the reality of Albania, the more it will talk about a narco-dictator and not about those white clothes of his", Berisha said. /CNA
