"The countdown has begun, the chapters will be closed by 2027"/ Rama shares the video from Brussels

Prime Minister Edi Rama has shared a video from Brussels where he is seen alongside members of his cabinet and the negotiating team with the EU.

Rama has mocked the opposition for the negotiations, adding that the countdown has already begun, the closing of the chapters. According to him, this process will be closed within 2027.

"But how did they say: 'That's it. There are no more negotiations'? But in fact, not only are there negotiations, but the first three chapters were closed. So the countdown began, the closing of the chapters. And we, whether those who don't want to or not, will close all the chapters by 2027," said Rama.

Albania has today marked a step closer on its journey towards the European Union, by officially closing three negotiation chapters, Science and Research, Education and Culture, and External Relations. This development was formalized during the Ninth Albania-EU Intergovernmental Conference, which took place this Tuesday in Brussels. /CNA
