The Dutch Embassy in Albania has reacted to the rejection of SPAK's request for Balluk's immunity by the Parliament.
In its response, the embassy says that the Netherlands supports Albania's integration into the EU in accordance with the wishes of the Albanian people.
The embassy further states that a key requirement for progress in the integration process is the effective prosecution of corruption.

Regarding today's decision of the Albanian Parliament to lift immunity, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Albania states:
The Netherlands supports Albania's integration into the European Union, in line with the will of the Albanian people. A key requirement for progress in this merit-based process is the effective prosecution of corruption, including at the highest levels.
We clearly expect that, in such cases, the justice system will be able to act quickly and without hindrance. Albanian politics remains responsible for ensuring this process.
