Power plant in Belsh/Këlliçi: Could cause damage to agriculture and farmers

Democratic MP Belind Këlliçi raised concerns today that the construction and operation of a plant in the Belsh area for green energy could cause major damage to agriculture and farmers.

In his speech to the Natural Resources Committee, Këlliçi stated that, as highlighted in the feasibility study for the area, the lands of Belsh are agricultural and fertile and a new energy plant could create economic consequences.

"Regarding the type of land and the area of ??land where the project is being developed, with the aim of building and operating a 50 MWh capacity plant in the Belsh area, within the framework of promoting green energy. So far we are in order. When feasibility studies have been carried out that it is agricultural land. If the local economy is stimulated, a land that is agricultural and fertile can cause harm to the agricultural project, farmers, etc.," said Këlliçi ./CNA
