International affairs expert Ilda Zhulali has harshly criticized Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos after her statements about the May 11 elections.

 Invited to the show "A Show", Zhulali stated that Marta Kos is at war with the European Parliament, where she is trusted.

Zhulali emphasized that the DP has submitted a verbal note that has been sent to both levels of the European Commission.

"While there was a deep political crisis in Serbia and it continues to be, Ms. Kos, for example, issued statements that were not at all consistent with what was happening there. Or they were not in line with what the European Parliament, or the member states, and here we are talking about the highest levels of the countries, the member states of the European Union, were declaring.

What has begun, I believe, in the entire region is a shake-up of European institutions, and now this era of stabilocracy or hypocrisy, which they might consider healthy, must end because it has not produced anything healthy. On the contrary, it has made our societies even sicker and has done damage that is perhaps very difficult to recover due to the loss of population that has been felt in all countries.

But especially for Albania, this has been difficult, not because we did not want to fight this battle, but we have had a very difficult time due to the very heavy blow that we received as the opposition in recent years. But this has changed. And I think that the changes that have started to come from the European Parliament, even from the United States of America, from member states of the European Union as well, reflect this effort that the opposition is making.

Last year we were in the European Parliament. Our MPs went there, had meetings, several meetings were held. Now we are represented in all forums.

Not only that, but we have a new combination that I regret that has not been sufficiently advertised. At the last summit held in Brazil, the secretary general of the European People's Parties herself, and this includes the CDU of Germany, that is, Chancellor Merz, who is also one of the main leaders of Europe today. Which also includes many other prime ministers of the European Union countries, has put Albania as one of the four main issues for the EPP.

In the whole, the agenda of all the problems that the world has, we are one of these four issues. So the first is Ukraine. The second is Maduro and his narco-state, with the call to reject him, and the third is Ramaduro and his power to reject him.

And these were said very directly by the general secretary of the European People's Parties, so I believe these are direct, strong messages that reflect positions. These are not the result of any lobbying but are positions and now what we expected was that all that Edi Rama and his government have done in all these years would one day boomerang. This boomerang has started at a very high cost for all Albanian citizens, including those who have fled the country, abandoned this country, and for others like us who have decided to stay.

Marta Kosi has not convinced even her own people, practically and what needs to happen in the European Union is that she has not convinced them, she has challenged her own people. So the fight she has today is with the European Parliament, where she is trusted, because that is where she receives the vote of confidence and they can also overthrow her for the positions that Marta Kos holds and that are not in line with the foreign policy or the values ??and principles of the European Union.

We have submitted a verbal note that is a demarche, a position of the Democratic Party, we have sent it to Mrs. Kos, we have sent it to Mrs. Von Der Leyen, so at both levels of the European Commission, in the European Parliament and we will follow it in the member states, so we will follow this issue step by step and we will not let this return now because it does not only harm the Albanian opposition, it also harms the region, it harms the European Union", said Zhulali./ CNA
