Liburn Aliu has taken up his new position as the director of the Port of Durres. In his speech, Aliu said that it is a very challenging task.

He emphasized that the Port of Durres is the port of the entire region. Aliu underlined that this port must be modernized to be competitive with the entire region.

He stated that the Port of Durres should expand its capacities, as this would help both countries, Kosovo and Albania, develop economically.

Aliu stated that it is a challenge and a duty for the port to develop and have connections with all countries in the region.

"I am very honored to be here today and I am honored that the government of the Republic of Albania has given me and entrusted me with a very challenging task. The Port of Durres is a port for the entire region. It is important that this port be modernized and competitive with the entire region. For this to be achieved, it must be seen in the geopolitical aspect.

"Kosovo needs to have strong connections in the Port of Durres to connect goods with the entire region. The Port of Durres should expand its capacities, this would help both countries develop economically. The oil port that will be in Porto Romano will bring security to the entire region. It is a duty and a challenge to develop the port and have connections with the entire region," said Aliu./ CNA
