Topalli: Dark day for the state! Power rotten by scandals, tomorrow the leader
Jozefina Topalli

Even Putin has arrested the leader of the opposition!

Tomorrow will be a dark day for the country's state and democracy.

The request for the arrest of the Leader of the country's opposition, the former President, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, after 12 years since his departure as former Prime Minister, is the most absurd and dangerous thing for Albanian pluralism.

And this shames a society..

The paradox is that for 3 years they have invented a file for the Leader of the opposition, which has neither case nor evidence. And to continue with the paradox, the process was initiated by Taulant Balla, a member of the current government.

And this fact alone would be enough to understand that the process is political.

But this process will embarrass our country, also due to the fact that some investigators have taken power from the Parliament, and this is a strong bell.

This process has started and is closing with some standards.

(And when in a process it moves with some standards, the process is political.)

A standard for the rulers like the Tahiri case, when the Parliament gives permission to Spak to remove the freedom of movement and another for the enemy Sali Berisha, when the investigator enters the political playing field, and brutally violates the Constitution as in autocratic countries, without the permission of the Parliament .

The paradox and danger is replicated when the investigation asks the Assembly to legislate its violation of the Constitution by adding coercive measures to the Leader of the opposition.

The leader of the opposition, Mr. Sali Berisha, is the man who led the democratic movement, who introduced the country to the Council of Europe, who signed the Stabilization Association, who introduced NATO to the country, who liberalized visas, etc.

During these 3 decades, there have been several Prime Ministers and rulers. Among all of them, Mr. Berisha was and is the most serious person in relation to the law and the state.

And this is what his opponents say in conversations when they are not on TV.

The government demands the arrest of the leader of the opposition, Mr. Sali Berisha, only for one reason:

To shut his mouth, so that he does not have the opportunity to stand up against scandals of terrible corruption; that he does not have the opportunity to protect the rights and freedoms of citizens; that he keep silent about the aging of our society due to the departure of Albanians; that he no longer stands up against the gangs and criminal organizations that rule everywhere.

I don't know a politician in 30 years who had the courage like Sali Berisha to stand up against the crime of terrible criminal organizations.

I don't know anyone else who has fought impossible battles like him.

Sali Berisha is not infallible.

But no one has fought for the public interest like him.

Asking to arrest the Leader of the opposition because he made a law for former owners 20 years ago is bordering on unbelievable.

He won the 2005 election with that program.

This is not only the paradox that leaves you speechless, this is the terrible precedent of a potential danger, which is coming to Albania in the name of anti-corruption, (with "zero evidence") at a time when the government is rotten by unstoppable scandals with incalculable damage to the country. (only scratched by the "new justice".)

Sali Berisha is the politician who has defended the national issue more strongly than anyone.

Sali Berisha is the only politician who is asked to remove his immunity for the second time.

The only leader who was violently overthrown from power and came to power by vote.

Prime Minister Berisha, this statesman, as an American ambassador said, resigned as party leader when he lost the elections. The only politician on whom bombs, punches and bullets have been thrown, and yet he has not surrendered.

The only party leader who enters the election without a stamp or name receives over half a million personal votes.

Even though he is 80 years old, he is the most energetic politician, the most committed to his mission as the leader of the opposition, which shames every politician and MP, young and old, because he says strong truths that many know but no one tells them.

And for this he will be martyred.

As a society we need to reflect on ourselves.

In the last 100 years, most of our Prime Ministers have been shot and arrested.

Likewise, almost all the signatories of the Act of Independence were executed, arrested or interned.

Our story is as painful as it is unfair.

Fatal story!

And yet this happened when it was a time of war or dictatorship.

This is happening today in a NATO country.

Yes, if today they demand the arrest of the leader of the opposition for political reasons -

What is left of this desert demonracy of ours?

Who will dare to stand up for human rights?

Who would sacrifice more to make a powerful opposition like that of Berisha;

Who would have the courage to name the terrible criminals by name.

What will they do after this to a simple citizen if we don't react!

Perhaps the Chairman of the Democratic Party, Mr. Sali Berisha, does not feel sorry for himself being martyred, but our country does not need martyrs.

Tomorrow we are officially a country with the leader of the opposition arrested.

Just like in Russia!
