Returns...

In politics, it's easy to leave, but hard to return . Very few people have been exceptions to the rule. As for Berisha, this does not apply (as some analysts claim), because he never left.

He lost the elections, remained the leader of the party and the opposition, won them after a few years; he won them back; he lost them to "leave", he lost them again even though he was in the shadows and he will lose them again, despite claiming that he will win and make Albania Great...

The reason?

There are a million reasons why the opposition should win, just as there are a million reasons why it should lose...

And the first and most important reason is the reform, change, modernization and adaptation of the opposition to the new era. Reform in ideas, human resources, values, meritocracy, program, rhetoric and action.

But can it happen? Hardly!

Clinging to the past with teeth and nails; in cults, people, ideas, rhetoric and mentality, our opposition is not serious about taking power. Being in opposition is more comfortable for it. It “freezes” time where and with whom it is interested, without considering that the world around it does not “freeze”, nor does it stand still nor wait with it. And, as long as it is stuck waiting in its ivory tower, the world and people outside change and evolve constantly without waiting for the opposition that “will return” to wake up and change!

Meanwhile, the government's organized effort to invest in and prevent the existence of a serious and competitive opposition has temporarily given up, but ultimately at some point it will backfire. Because this investment against the opposition was nothing more than the result of an arrogant stance, because the authoritarian perception prevails in the position that, since there was no opposition to exert pressure, everything would be "arranged" as it wanted.

The opposition as an opponent of the government does not interest the majority of the electorate, except for the opposition and its followers.

On the contrary, the opposition as the "next government" interests us all.

Of course, fragmentation and impossibility go hand in hand in politics. The longer the opposition remains outside and away from power, the more impossible it is, the weaker and more its governing characteristics fade.

Giulio Andreotti once said: "Power weakens what it does not have!"

And let's not kid ourselves. It will be difficult to change the current government on May 11, 2025.

Unless the "next government" will be today's with some addition: someone or some from today's opposition.
