Servants of Authoritarianism
The parallelism of Neomalësore leading the closed list of ...

I did not choose the title of the film by directors Ibrahim Muçaj and Kristaq Mitro, with a screenplay by writer Nasi Lera, to lead this article about HAMIT BORIÇI by chance.
Not because, as a sign of gratitude and respect, I started the day today by calling HAMIT BORIÇI to congratulate him on his 95th birthday, as my congratulatory call has nothing to do with the movie call.
But, because it seemed too little to me to keep my congratulations for him within that phone call.
So, to share it with you, I chose the title of the film "A Morning Phone Call", also because that film's subject is the work of a newspaper editorial office, with all the dynamics, problems, concerns, and phenomena of a time now distant.
But also because for many, many years, HAMIT BORIÇI's life as editor-in-chief has been "A Morning Telephone Call".

Maybe I'm wrong, but as far as I remember, many shots of that film were shot in the editorial office of the newspaper "Bashkimi" where Hamit Boriçi was the editor-in-chief.
Without knowing which editor-in-chief writer Nasi Lera had in mind when he wrote the work, I want to believe that the editor-in-chief of the film is the editor-in-chief of my writing, who today celebrates his 95th birthday.
It was my literature professor at the "Luigj Gurakuqi" University in Shkodër, Prof. Selami Tabaku, who gave me the opportunity to meet HAMIT BORIÇI when I was a student and he was the editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Bashkimi".
From that moment on, and on every occasion thereafter, kindness, simplicity, and benevolence are, for me, his outstanding qualities.
I strongly believe that those qualities "invited" me and motivated me to choose and then devote myself to the profession of journalism, where models or examples are important in order to achieve the dream you choose to make a reality.
HAMIT BORIÇI is without a doubt the living history of the Albanian press in almost a century.

Since the mid-1950s, he has been the most authoritative historian of that history in which he was and remains a protagonist with valuable contributions as a journalist and editor-in-chief, as a lecturer and founding professor of the school of journalism in Albania.
A persistent and attentive researcher, a tireless worker and careful with every episode or detail, no matter how peripheral or seemingly insignificant, HAMIT BORIÇI has known how to create the profile of a noble and distinguished intellectual.
Few words when he needs to speak for himself, sweet-spoken and kind to others, measured and very serious when he needs to evaluate the work of the journalists whose leader he was, and equally noble in every word he says about his colleagues who are no longer alive, HAMIT BORIÇI comes today to his 95th birthday as a model of the engaged citizen and tireless activity, who never stopped working, regardless of age, to reveal and make known to us everything he was able to discover, know or learn in his long life.
For these reasons, I chose to share with you my congratulations on Hamit Boriç's 95th birthday.
Because Hamit Boriçi should be written about and spoken about loudly. He deserves only respect./CNA
