Why are the last 10 days before the election decisive in determining the vote?

The result of the May 11 elections is known to everyone, big and small. Only the military, who do not want to accept it. The SP wins the May 11 elections. The question is whether the parliament will have a configuration to overthrow Edi Rama's government in the future or will we have a configuration that will guarantee Rama a fifth mandate.

Normally, all voters in Albania are clear about which political force they will vote for, but the last 10 days are always decisive, especially for the Socialist Party and the Democratic Party, or more precisely, the entire fragmented opposition.

Currently, Albania is almost at the end of the elections, and although all polls show the SP as the winner, no one is clear about what the distribution of mandates will be.

Rama has declared that the SP will win convincingly and alone, threatening the DP that it will have a result similar to 1997, but the final reckoning will be in Kuç.

The DP declares that it will win, but so far the one up its sleeve has been LaCivita, who has declared that he does not represent the US government, but is a private contractor. The initial enthusiasm among the Democrats has waned, because apart from a few short speeches delivered in the DP press offices and a catch-up with the number one held by Berisha, the "strategist" has brought nothing new.

No one can say for sure how many mandates the new parties will receive and how the seats in parliament will be distributed, but the likelihood is that the percentages of the new parties will shrink by the end.

And this is due to the fact that these parties will be under constant pressure, pressure, not only from the old parties, but also their investment in the psychological pressure of the electorate. It seems as if the pressure on small parties favors the DP, but such a thing is not true at all. The pressure on new parties only brings demoralization of the entire opposition electorate, causing them not to go out to vote on election day because they will be convinced that there is no more hope for change and political rotation.

Precisely, the investment of the old parties in preserving the 35-year-old establishment and their survival lies in killing the electorate's hope.

Therefore, the last 10 days will give us the clear and final picture of the victory of one side and the defeat of the others on May 11.../ CNA
