A worthy endeavor for higher education

The government has taken an important step in efforts to entice young people to study in some branches that were on the verge of extinction, due to lack of interest. It is about branches of teaching, branches of the agricultural profile, tourism and some engineering profiles in the field of mining and environment.

The government decided to offer scholarships, in the value of the minimum wage, in the hope that it will entice young people to become teachers of mathematics, physics, chemistry, and language-literature. But also to become agronomists, veterinarians, zootechnicians and employees of the tourism industry.

Today, agriculture is in great demand for specialists, as a large number of students have been graduating for years. While teaching in some universities has been closed and UT suffers from the quality of students.

According to the announcement of the Ministry of Education:

• Scholarships are worth the minimum wage and will be distributed by establishing quotas for each public university, to give more opportunities to students of all public universities;

• Unlike last year, where the criterion was the high school average above 8.5, this year the beneficiaries of these scholarships will be students regardless of the average grade, but always fulfilling the admission criteria for each study program, just like all students of others;

• The beneficiary student does not have the obligation to maintain the average of the high school, with which he received the scholarship, in order for the financial support to last throughout the entire period of studies;
