Political and human cannibalism

Political and human cannibalism

"If cannibals used forks, could we say that they had made some kind of progress, had evolved?"
The answer to this question from a prominent Polish poet could be: "It depends on what perspective, or from whose perspective you look at it!"

From the cannibal's perspective, it certainly represents progress. It improves the way food is enjoyed and avoids dramatic contact with human flesh.

But from the victim's side, I highly doubt there would be a positive assessment of this fact. The unbearable pain of the slaughter, coupled with the terrifying last possibility, would weigh much more heavily in the assessment of the situation than the modern way of dealing with this criminal and equally barbaric act.

Human cannibalism

Social media, websites, and portals are filled every day with accusations, insults, personal characterizations, and unacceptable puns on names and surnames.

Not only from politics, but also from citizens, often blinded and who see reality only through party glasses, turning into a kind of human cannibalism.

A dangerous slide for a society that, above all, must respect the right to free expression, free will, and the right to speech, but while respecting minimal logic and the general interest.

Therefore, concern cannot function as a purgatory for those who try to make politicians and officials “politically wanted and targeted.”
There are elections in which every politician, every aspiring politician, or citizen can effortlessly express, with their vote, their disapproval or approval of policies and individuals, as democracy requires.

Political cannibalism

Politics and engagement with public affairs have been created as a necessity since ancient times as a need for structured societies so that they can be organized and ultimately governed better. Thus, political parties were created, the position of the opposition, justice, civil society, etc. were born.
All these political formations are guided by principles and values ??that their members must implement and adopt.

The fundamental principle of politics and the people who serve it is "political culture", a principle and a position that has been steadfastly adhered to to this day, and this is one of the reasons that politics as a concept and as an institution has survived time.

But currently in Albania, both at the central and local levels, "political culture" has given way to "political cannibalism" and positions, principles and values ??have been devoured by "political cannibals".

Political cannibals, using their own interest and perhaps their concern for the citizens they “represent,” do not
hesitate to tarnish human personalities in the logic of “the door is always open when the window is closed!” On the altar of petty political interests and personal, selfish motives and pursuits, some “new politicians” under the pretext of “the good of the country, of the city,” under the claim that “they were elected by the citizens and are their voice that protects their interests” or “information and transparency.”

But, unfortunately for them, society is no longer the same. It has information and inexhaustible sources of information, it thinks for itself, and as a result, it has gained "immunity." And political and human cannibalism falls on deaf ears.

Political actors of all types and calibers, central or local, must finally understand that politics can and should be produced through political responsibility, positions and principles, and not in terms of the jungle and human cannibalism.

And, they should always keep in mind: "Today is mine, tomorrow is someone else's, and never anyone's!"
