Vienna leads for the 3rd year in a row/ 10 best cities to live

Vienna has been declared the best city in the world to live in, for the third consecutive year in 2024 by "The Economist".

In addition to Vienna's position in the survey, three other European cities were ranked in the "top-10" in a year when global volatility and the cost of living rose sharply.

Much of this year's "top 10" remains largely unchanged from 2023.

A noticeable difference is the dominance of Western European cities in particular, occupying the top 3 places and having four places in total at the top of the table.

How is the ranking?

Each city's overall ranking is finalized by averaging scores out of 100 in five different categories: stability, culture and environment, education, healthcare and infrastructure.

After Vienna, it is ranked Copenhagen in Denmark, Zurich in Switzerland, Melbourne in Australia, Calgary in Canada, Sydney in Australia, Geneva in Switzerland, Vancouver in Canada, Osaka in Japan, Auckland in New Zealand./ CNA
