A 48-year-old man has been arrested by the border police in Kakavija, after attempting to enter Albania with narcotics in his car. The citizen EN was placed in handcuffs, and a quantity of cocaine, 2 cell phones and 3,700 euros were found and seized in his car.

Meanwhile, as part of the crackdown on illegalities at the border, a 49-year-old man with the initials I.GJ was also prosecuted.

In the van he was driving, 10 boxes of hunting cartridges were found and seized, a total of 250 cartridges, which he had not declared according to the law and did not have a permit to transport them.

The Kakavije Border Police Services, in continuation of their work to combat cross-border crimes, based on risk analysis, have passed through a second-line check, at the entrance to the Republic of Albania, the vehicles driven by citizens EN and I. Gj.

-During the search of citizen EN's vehicle and the physical search of him, the Police services found and seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, 2 cell phones and 3,700 euros.

During the search of the van driven by citizen I. Gj., the Police services found and seized 10 boxes of hunting cartridges (a total of 250 cartridges), which he had not declared in accordance with the law and was not equipped with a permit to transport them.

At the end of the actions for these cases:

- the Narcotics Investigation specialists of the Gjirokastër DVP arrested in flagrante delicto the citizen EN, 48 years old, resident of Berat, for the criminal offense of "Production and sale of narcotics";

-Crime Investigation specialists of the DVKM Gjirokastra referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office where criminal proceedings were initiated against citizen I. Gj., 49 years old, resident of Patos, for the criminal offense of "Unlicensed production and possession of hunting and sporting weapons".

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action. /CNA
