A 38-year-old man wanted for a theft committed in July on the Mamurras-Tirana highway was arrested in the early hours of yesterday morning. The citizen with the initials JS, 38, was placed in handcuffs, while his accomplice, citizen JD, 19, a resident of the village of Karpen, was also arrested.

They were arrested by police a few hours after the theft committed in the early hours of yesterday morning, in a house in the village of Sakos in Vora, of about 100 liters of diesel and other equipment. Police are continuing their investigations to uncover other thefts that these two individuals may have committed.

Being under the security measure "Arrest in prison", for a theft committed in July, on the "Mamurras-Tirana" highway, in the early hours of yesterday morning, in an apartment in Vora, the 38-year-old was arrested.

The 38-year-old's accomplice is also in custody for the theft in Vora.

Following the investigative and operational actions, carried out with the objective of bringing the perpetrators of the thefts to criminal responsibility, the services of Police Commissariat No. 7 finalized the "Walkers" operation, during which citizens JS, 38 years old, resident of the village of Gërdec, and JD, 19 years old, resident of the village of Karpen, were arrested.

They were caught a few hours after the theft committed in the early morning hours of 04.11.2025, in a residence in the village of Sakos, Vora, of about 100 liters of diesel and other equipment.

Further investigations revealed that the 38-year-old arrested man was currently wanted, because the Lezha Court had imposed the security measure "Arrest in prison" on him, on suspicion that on 10.07.2025, in collaboration with his brother, citizen DS (arrested by the Police), they stole equipment and items from a warehouse on the "Mamurras-Tirana" highway.

Investigations are ongoing to uncover other thefts that citizens JS and JD may have committed.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action. /CNA
