5 weapons, ammunition and heroin seized/ 3 arrested in Gjirokastra, 2 wanted

A police operation in the Gjirokastra area has concluded with the seizure of 3 firearms, 1 hunting gun, 1 bayonet cold weapon, combat ammunition, a quantity of heroin, 300 cannabis seeds and a sum of money.

The seizures were carried out as a result of a weeks-long investigation, using proactive methods, during the police operation codenamed "Interruption".

3 citizens were arrested and 2 others were declared wanted, who possessed the illegal items, in 3 apartments in the "Zinxhira" neighborhood and in the village of Bënçë.

One of the arrested had a record of drug trafficking.

As a result of an investigation that was pursued for several weeks, with proactive methods, in coordination with the Gjirokastra Prosecutor's Office, to document the criminal activities of several citizens, in the field of distribution of narcotics and illegal possession of weapons, specialists of the Narcotics and Trafficking Investigation Section, in cooperation with specialists of the Operational Sector, with the services of the "Eagle" Special Force, with the services of the Gjirokastra Police Commissariat and the services of the Tepelena Police Commissariat, finalized the operation "Interruption".

As part of this operation:

-Citizen Ç. B., 57 years old (with a record for drug trafficking), his 14-year-old son was arrested, and his other son, citizen EB, 19 years old, was declared wanted, after in their apartment, in the "Zinxhira" neighborhood, were found: 1 Kalashnikov firearm, 1 pistol firearm, 1 shotgun and combat ammunition;

- citizen AB, 25 years old (son of the 57-year-old's brother), was declared wanted, after in his apartment, in the "Zinxhira" neighborhood, were found: 1 bayonet, 300 suspected cannabis sativa seeds, a quantity of suspected heroin, combat ammunition, 10,000 euros and 100,000 lekë;

-Citizen AS, 21 years old, was arrested after 1 Kalashnikov firearm and ammunition were found in his apartment in the village of Bënçë.

Work continues to capture the wanted citizens, EB and AB (cousins).

The procedural materials were referred to the Gjirokastra Prosecutor's Office for further action. /CNA
