A 31-year-old man has been arrested in Elbasan after being accused of stealing valuables and money from an apartment, as well as materials from a warehouse.

The citizen with the initials Xh.M. was arrested. The police report states that the 31-year-old had hidden stolen items from the bar he managed.

Police announcement:

Elbasan/The police operation codenamed "Night" is finalized.

He stole valuables and money from an apartment, as well as materials from a warehouse, and was caught immediately after the apartment owner, a 31-year-old man, reported it.

The 31-year-old had hidden some of the stolen items in the apartment at the bar he managed.

Following the investigative and operational work, with the objective of identifying and bringing the perpetrators of the thefts to criminal responsibility, the services of the Elbasan Police Commissariat finalized the police operation codenamed "Night", as a result of which the citizen Xh. M., 31 years old, was arrested and put in handcuffs.

From the investigative actions it is suspected that this citizen:

-on 19.10.2025, he entered the apartment of citizen EL, in the "Katund i Ri" neighborhood, when there were no citizens there, and stole valuables and sums of money, a case for which the owner of the apartment reported to the police yesterday. During the search carried out in the premises managed by the 31-year-old, some of the valuables suspected of being stolen in this apartment were found;

-on 05.11.2025, he stole materials from a warehouse in the "Katund i Ri" neighborhood.

Work continues to fully document this citizen's criminal activity in the field of theft.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Elbasan, for further action. / CNA
