Caught with 8 kg of cannabis/ 30-year-old arrested in Durrës

A 30-year-old citizen has been arrested as part of a police operation to crack down on the production and sale of narcotics.

Citizen EK, 30 years old, resident of Durrës, was caught red-handed in the apartment where he had hidden the narcotics, in neighborhood no. 8 of the coastal city. 

During the operation codenamed "Banesa", 8 kilograms of Cannabis Sativa were also seized.

In continuation of the work to prevent, identify and crack down on criminal activities in the field of narcotics, specialists of the Narcotics Investigation Section, in cooperation with the services of the Special Operational Force of the Durrës DVP, based on information obtained through operational means, organized and finalized the operation codenamed "Banesa", as a result of which the citizen was arrested in flagrante delicto:

EK, 30 years old, resident of Durrës.

Based on the information obtained that this citizen possessed a quantity of narcotics which he had hidden in an uninhabited apartment near his apartment, in neighborhood no. 8, Durrës, the Police services intervened and caught citizen EK red-handed, at the moment he was attempting to take the narcotics.  

The suspected narcotic substance Cannabis Sativa, weighing 8 kilograms, was seized as material evidence.

Investigations are ongoing to fully document this case and identify other citizens who may be involved.

The procedural materials were transferred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for further action, for the criminal offense of "Production and sale of narcotics". /CNA
