Ukrainian officials: Over 10,000 troops have been killed in the war

A senior adviser to Ukraine's president, citing the country's military chiefs, said 10,000 to 13,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed in the nine-month war against Russian aggression.

This is a rare case of Ukrainian officials giving figures for war casualties, and they are much lower than Western estimates.

The new figures were given late last night by Mykhailo Podolyak, a senior adviser to President Zelenskiy. According to him, the number of wounded bodies is higher and the number of civilian casualties is "considerable".
