The US has used most of its stock of advanced air defense missiles to protect Israel during conflicts with Iran, the prestigious American media outlet 'The Washington Post' reveals in an article published regarding the war.
According to sources in the US Department of Defense, it appears that they have used far more high-tech munitions to defend Israel than the Israeli forces themselves have used.
The United States launched more than 200 THAAD interceptor missiles in defense of Israel, about half of the Pentagon's total stockpile, as well as more than 100 Standard Missile-3 and Standard Missile-6 missiles from warships in the eastern Mediterranean, according to US officials.
Israel used fewer than 100 Arrow missiles and about 90 David's Sling rockets, some of which were used against less sophisticated missiles fired by pro-Iranian groups in Yemen and Lebanon.
Military analysts said the data offered a rare glimpse into how the US and Israel cooperate.
