Police officers attacked/6 people arrested in Mitrovica

Kosovo Police arrested 6 people today suspected of attacking police officers. The incident took place in Mitrovica.

The following citizens were arrested:

1. NN - 24 years old 1.59 ‰

2. NN - 26 years old 1.62 ‰

3. AB - 28 years old 1.50 ‰

4. AB - 30 years old 1.57 ‰

5. IR - 24 years old 1.21 ‰

6. BD - 19 years old 1.84 ‰

The arrest of the suspects was made on reasonable suspicion of involvement in a fight between them that occurred on 25.02.2025 on "Kral Petri" street in North Mitrovica.

After the patrol unit intervened to stop the beating, the suspects initially insulted and then attacked the police officers, resulting in 3 police officers suffering bodily injuries, for which they received medical treatment.

The police have taken all necessary actions, where the suspects, after being arrested, were brought to the police station where they were breathalyzed and tested positive for alcohol, as above. All suspects have also received medical treatment.

All actions taken have been reported to the prosecutor of the case, where the 6 suspects were ordered to be detained for 48 hours by the prosecutor's decision./CNA
