Ukraine's membership/ Zelensky: I am ready to resign if we are admitted to NATO

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he is ready to resign as leader if it were exchanged for NATO membership.

This while also pushing back against US demands for Ukraine's critical minerals and other natural resources as part of negotiations to end the war.

Asked at a press conference on Sunday whether he was ready to resign if it ensures peace for Ukraine, Zelensky said: "If [it guarantees] peace for Ukraine, if you really need me to resign, I am ready. I can exchange it for NATO."

He adds that it is not his "dream" to be president for a decade and that he would leave his post if it would lead to peace for Ukraine.

Zelesnky's comments come after Russia launched a large-scale drone attack across Ukraine, on the eve of the third anniversary of the war. /CNA
