Trump: The best way to end the war is to go straight to a peace deal

Following his meeting with Putin and phone call with NATO leaders and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, US President Donald Trump stated that "everyone determined that the best way to end the terrible war between Russia and Ukraine is to go straight to a Peace Agreement."

In a response on his "Social Truth" platform, Trump emphasizes that this would end the war and would be more substantial than "a simple ceasefire agreement."

The US president adds that he had "a great and very successful day meeting with Putin in Alaska."

Trump also confirms that the Ukrainian president will fly to Washington, D.C. for talks in the Oval Office on Monday.

"If everything goes well, we will schedule a meeting with President Putin. Potentially, millions of lives will be saved," he says./ CNA
