Rubio meets Minister Mucunski/ Talks on US-North Macedonia cooperation

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio met today with North Macedonia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Tim?o Mucunski. The meeting focused on the relationship between the United States and North Macedonia and highlighted mutual interests in regional stability, economic cooperation, and NATO.

The two officials discussed opportunities to expand economic cooperation, including trade and investment. Secretary Rubio emphasized the need for NATO allies to support and achieve five percent of defense spending.

Mucunski said that the meeting in Washington with Rubio confirmed the cooperation between the two countries, which, according to him, is based on shared values, political interests and long-standing friendship.

"I expressed the commitment of the Macedonian Government to advance the political dialogue with the US, as well as the concrete commitment to institutionalize the strategic partnership through the implementation of the Joint Action Plan," Mucunksi wrote on social networks. /CNA
