Helicopter crashes in the Alps, 3 tourists die

Three people were killed and three others injured after a helicopter crashed on the Petit Combin mountain in the Swiss Alps, local police said.

The helicopter crashed at the landing point on the mountain, where the relevant announcement states that "upon reaching the top at 3,668 meters above sea level, the helicopter crashed on the slope".

The helicopter was carrying the pilot, a mountain guide and four tourist passengers.

Seven helicopters were sent to the scene as part of the rescue operation. The two injured were given first aid before being airlifted to a hospital in the Wallis canton capital of Sion.

"Unfortunately, the other three passengers were found dead," the statement said./ CNA
