Former US Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Richard Grenell, called for transparent investigations into the tensions in northern Kosovo on September 24.

Grenell said on Çim Peka's show that the US or the EU should intervene immediately and start an investigation.

Also, he requested that the White House send an emissary to Kosovo for the situation created after the killing of the policeman by a group of armed Serbs.

"I want to understand every detail and therefore it is necessary to have a transparent investigation. The Government of Serbia must indicate when it received the notification of the attack. What also worries me are the people in Kosovo who work in the police and were put in this position by Kurti. We want to know what they knew, what they were told and now after the deaths we have to do the investigation.

We have to have the footage, and look carefully at everything. Not just some small snippets of videos because they seem to be snippets of the situation. I want an independent investigation. You know there has to be a third party to step in and do these autopsies. We cannot have just one party providing the information and everyone trusting that party.

This is the role of the US or the EU, but one of these two must immediately intervene and start the investigation. My concern is that Europeans talk a lot but don't act as much. It is at these moments that the US should intervene, and when they do, they take immediate action.
