Zelensky: We will fight as long as necessary

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today that nothing would weaken his country's fight against Russia, a day after the US Congress approved a bill to provide emergency funding for the US federal government, but without including new aid for Ukraine.

Also, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov emphasized that in a telephone conversation he had with his American counterpart Lloyd Austin, he received assurances that Kiev will receive further military assistance from Washington. "Secretary Austin has assured me that US support for Ukraine will continue and that Ukrainian soldiers will continue to have strong support on the battlefield," Umerov X. told Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleg.

The U.S. has helped Kiev more than anyone else, providing nearly $110 billion in civilian and military aid since February 2022.

US President Joe Biden vowed today that Washington will not abandon Ukraine, underscoring that Republicans have pledged to approve additional aid to Ukraine in a separate vote.
