He is expected to be informed of the charges brought against him/Here's

Venezuela's ousted president, Nicolas Maduro, will appear in court tomorrow afternoon, where he will be officially informed of the charges against him.

The US justice system accuses him mainly of "narcoterrorism" and importing cocaine into the United States. The Venezuelan president, who was arrested on Saturday during a US military operation, will appear before the federal court of the Southern District of New York, in Manhattan.

US Attorney General Pam Bondi said Maduro faces charges of conspiracy to commit narcoterrorism, conspiracy to import cocaine, possession of automatic weapons and destructive devices, and conspiracy to possess automatic weapons and destructive devices against the US.

According to the data so far, Maduro is being prosecuted under a new arrest warrant and not the one issued in 2020. The new legal document appears to include the First Lady of Venezuela, who did not exist in 2020, among the charges. /CNA
