Suffered complications during cosmetic surgery/ The 25-year-old law graduate passed away

A 25-year-old law graduate has died after the complications she experienced during an aesthetic operation, The Mirror reports.

Dayana Loy de Oliveira Freire experienced complications during the operation under anesthesia. 

According to her surgeon at Jacob Facuri Hospital in Goiânia, Brazil, her heart rate slowed. She then had a cardiac arrest and passed away.

Plastic surgeon Bruno Granieri said he and his medical team tried to revive her for three hours, but to no avail. Her devastated father, Duilio Alves Freire, said: "She was 25 years old, without any disease, in perfect shape before she went into surgery and came out dead."

Police in the state of Goias are now investigating the case after Dayana's family reported the incident. They are treating her death as "accidental" pending the receipt of the medical-legal report.

Her uncle, Gilberto Martins, said Dayana paid £8,200 for the procedure "with the money she was saving". She was buried in her hometown, Itaberaí, on September 14./ CNA
