During a speech at the University of Prague, the German chancellor, Olaf Scholz, spoke about a reorganization of the European Union. As a result of Russia's aggressive war in Ukraine, the EU must become much stronger and more economically independent, the chancellor said. A united Europe is a vision for Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Scholz: If necessary, the EU treaties should be changed

The Chancellor said he is committed to the expansion of the European Union, which should include not only the countries of the Western Balkans, but also Ukraine, Moldova and, in the future, Georgia.
