Investments in technology/ Manastirliu: We extend Smart laboratories to 650

The Minister of Education and Sports Ogerta Manastirliu informs that the extension of artificial intelligence laboratories has continued, in the second phase of this project in schools, for young people from 13-19 years old.

Manastirliu visited the "Ismail Qemali" gymnasium, where he saw closely the projects carried out by the students in the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, the Minister of Education and Sports Ogerta Manastirliu.

"The artificial intelligence project aims to include more than 2,000 students and 140 teachers, to increase capacities and guide intelligent solutions through these programs", said Minister Manastirliu.

Minister Manastirliu said that investments will continue with 216 Smart laboratories for 2024, and starting from 2025, we will have the extension of these laboratories to 650 other schools

"We will continue with investments with 216 Smart laboratories for 2024, and starting from 2025, we will have the extension of these laboratories to 650 more schools, which will make it possible for digital education to become part of the curriculum and the daily learning of children from an early age, but on the other hand also to develop critical thinking", said Manastirliu.

The Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at the "Ismail Qemali" high school is part of the 'AI for Youth' project, where nine schools have been included in the first page and the project is currently being extended to 15 other schools.

The project of artificial intelligence laboratories for young people is being implemented within the policies of the Albanian government, the Ministry of Education, in cooperation with the Albanian-American Development Foundation (AADF) and Intel Corporation Inc., which benefits students of the age group from 13-19 years old./ CNA
