Planned bomb attack on US bank in France/ Three people in custody

Three people have been arrested in connection with a planned bomb attack at the Bank of America headquarters in Paris. One of the suspects was immediately detained at the scene, while French security services said today that two more people had been arrested in connection with the incident, which occurred at around 03:30 local time.

French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said the attempted attack could be linked to the US-Israeli war against Iran.

"In this type of conflict, you have a number of Iranian services that are likely to carry out such actions through intermediaries. There is a significant suspicion, but it is up to the investigation to determine ," he said.

The Iranian embassy in France did not comment on Nunez's statements. The initial suspect, who was detained at the scene, is a minor whose detention has been extended. Under French law, suspects in terrorism cases can be held in custody for 96 hours. This period can only be extended by court order.

Nunez claimed that similar attacks have been thwarted in other European countries, including France, the Netherlands, Britain and Norway. He urged security services to be extremely vigilant and increase their presence in transportation hubs and other locations across the country.

France's anti-terrorism prosecutor's office said it had immediately taken over the investigation, which was examining attempted damage by fire or other dangerous means in connection with a terrorist enterprise and a terrorist criminal conspiracy.

The Paris judicial police and France's domestic intelligence service, the General Directorate for Internal Security, are also involved in the investigation, according to the anti-terrorism prosecutor's office. /CNA
