Boat sinks in Libya/ More than 60 victims are suspected

Dozens of people are missing and dozens more are presumed dead after their boat capsized off the coast of Libya, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) has said.

The 61 people are believed to have died because of the high waves, which flooded their ship, on the northwest coast of Libya, writes "The Guardian".

He said there were about 86 people on board, citing survivors.

The IOM said the ship had left the Zuwara coast overnight between December 13 and 14.

More than 153,000 refugees and migrants arrived in Italy this year from Tunisia and Libya, according to the UN refugee agency./ CNA
