China is calling for an immediate ceasefire following US and Israeli attacks on Iran and has called on all parties to stop escalating the conflict and return to dialogue and diplomatic negotiations.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry made the appeal in a statement, stressing that Iran's sovereignty, security and territorial integrity must be respected.
The Chinese embassy in Israel sent a notice to Chinese citizens there to relocate to safer areas within the country or leave for Egypt via the Taba border crossing.
The Foreign Ministry also called on citizens in Iran to leave "as soon as possible" via land routes to neighboring countries such as Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey and Iraq.
Beijing's statements and measures for its citizens reflect fears of a further escalation in the Middle East conflict, and diplomatic efforts to prevent a wider regional war./CNA
