On Sunday, August 20, Russian shelling hit a residential area in the southern Mykolayiv region, injuring 12 civilians, including four children.

A five-story apartment building and private homes in the city of Voznesensk were heavily damaged by shelling that collapsed balconies and blew out windows, according to Black Sea regional governor Vitaliy Kim.

Voznesensk is located about 30 kilometers from the Pivdennoukrainsk nuclear power plant, the second largest in Ukraine. There are no reports of damage to the nuclear plant.

Kompania shtetërore Energoatom, e cila menaxhon të katër gjeneratorët e energjisë bërthamore të Ukrainës, e përshkroi sulmin në Voznesensk si "një akt tjetër të terrorizmit bërthamor rus".
