Bekirovi? asks Vu?i? to "stop undermining" Bosnia's

The head of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bekirovi?, called on Friday the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vu?i?, to face the "truth" and "stop undermining" the sovereignty of the state of Bosnia.

Bekirovic said that "it would be better for Vucic to deal with the internal affairs of Serbia, rather than meddling in the internal affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina".

Earlier on Friday, Vucic accused Sarajevo of "intending to implement the disappearance" of the Bosnian Serb entity, Republika Srpska, and "plunge Serbia into conflict with NATO."

The Serbian leader made the comments following a speech by Bekirovic at the commemoration of the 29th anniversary of the Poto?ari genocide on July 11, when the Bosnian Serb army killed more than 8,300 Bosniaks in July 1995.

In his speech in Potoëari on July 11, Beqirovi?, among other things, also spoke about Republika Srpska's threats to secede from Bosnia.

Bekirovi? rejected Vu?i?'s claims and said that Serbia, in addition to the special and parallel ties it has with Republika Srpska, is obliged to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia.

"The question is what would the president of Serbia do if, for example, one of Serbia's neighboring states would approve a 49-point declaration with Vojvodina and the content of that declaration would not respect Serbia's sovereignty," Bekirovic said.

He said that peace and equal cooperation in the region "are threatened by the big state policy of the regime in Belgrade".

"Vucic's grand goals are clear. After he organized the 'All-Serbian Assembly' in Belgrade, on June 8 of this year, and voted for the Greater Serbia Declaration, no one doubts what the president of Serbia is really doing. The realization of Vucic's statement would mean the disappearance of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and, therefore, in the interest of maintaining peace, it must be stopped," Beqirovic said.

The "All-Serbian Assembly" was held on June 8 in Belgrade, with the participation of representatives of the Government of Serbia and the Serbian entity, Republika Srpska.

It was organized under the slogan "One people, one assembly - Serbia and Serbia" and produced the so-called Declaration for the protection of national and political rights and the common future of the Serbian people.

On June 10, the American Embassy in Sarajevo described the Declaration as dangerous and full of errors.
