Thaçi's lawyer in The Hague: The burden of proof falls on the ZPS,

The lawyer of former Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi at the Special Court in The Hague, Luka Misetic, stated that the Specialized Prosecutor's Office (SPO) has failed to meet the burden of proof against his client.

During his appearance before the trial panel, Mišeti? emphasized that the burden of proof falls on the prosecution and not the defense, adding that the SPO is asking the court to find evidence that, according to him, the prosecution itself has failed to provide.

According to the lawyer, the biggest mistake in a legal process is to promise more than is presented with concrete evidence.

"They want you to find evidence that they failed to find, the trial panel was clear the burden of proof falls on the SPO. They failed."

The biggest sin in a trial is to promise more than what is delivered and the ZPS has committed this great and unforgivable sin. They have promised fireworks and have not delivered anything. The ZPS would ultimately provide an explanation for what Hashim Thaçi has done or said.
