Andrew Tates has his house arrest lifted

Influential controversial figure Andrew Tates has been released from house arrest in Romania as he awaits trial on charges of rape and human trafficking.

Andrew and his brother Tristan were arrested in March and charged in June.

Both deny the allegations.

They will now be able to move freely in the capital of Romania, Bucharest.

According to the decision, Andrew will have to report to the Police, according to the established deadlines, or in case of a change of address.

Among other things, the two men have been banned from contacting the two Romanian assistants, who are accused of being involved in the criminal acts the brothers allegedly committed.

A judge is said to assess in two weeks whether they are complying with the ruling.

The two brothers were arrested at their home in December, and have since been placed under house arrest.

In the lawsuit, it is said that the two Romanian brothers and two women created an organized criminal group in 2021 to carry out human trafficking in Romania, but also in the United States and the United Kingdom.

The lawsuit names seven victims who say they were recruited by the Tate brothers through false promises of love and marriage.

British-American Tate has gained attention online after stating that women should take some responsibility when they are sexually assaulted.
