Albania records economic growth/ World Bank: Second in the region after

According to the assessment of the World Bank, Albania has recorded economic growth, ranking second in the region after Montenegro.
Albania reflects the fastest economic growth among the 6 countries of the Western Balkans.

The data of the latest report of the World Bank reflect that during 2022 our country has had an increase in gross domestic product by 4.8%, ranking second in the region after Montenegro with 6.1%.

According to the report, the economies of the 6 countries of the region have recorded growth at different levels after the pandemic.

It is also noted that progress has been made by our country in the employment of young people, where 56.3% of young people are employed, while in the entire region the youth employment rate is 47%.

The biggest annual increases were recorded in Albania and Montenegro with 2.7 and 7.9 percent, respectively.

Another sector that reflects progress is that of tourism, specifically the hotel industry, whose level is higher than before the pandemic.

"In 2022, tourism, compared to the number of nights spent by non-residents, has fully recovered and exceeded the level of 2019 in Albania, but also in Kosovo and Serbia," the report states./ Euronews Albania
