At the peak of summer, foreigners chose the capital. Statistics from accommodation structures show that foreigners who visited Albania in August preferred the Center region, which includes Tirana and Elbasan, with a figure of 238 thousand, and fewer the North and South regions.

The Institute of Statistics confirmed that in the 8th month of the year, accommodation structures recorded a significant increase in visitors and nights of stay, compared to the same month last year.

"Total visitors increased by 35.1%, with non-residents registering an increase of 40.6% and residents by 21.6%. Total overnight stays increased by 33.3%, with non-residents increasing by 42.6% and residents by 11.7%. The largest increase in non-resident visitors was recorded in coastal areas (+47.8%) and in hotels and similar accommodations (+35.2%)," the publication states.

According to INSTAT in August 2025, the majority of non-resident visitors who were accommodated in accommodation facilities in Albania came from Kosovo (21%), Poland (12%), Italy (10%). France and Germany each contributed 7% of visitors, while 43% of them were from other countries.

"These data reflect the trend of increasing inbound tourism from the main markets of the region and Europe. The occupancy rate of hotel rooms reached 61.5%, compared to 59.6% in August 2024," INSTAT estimates.

August seems to be one of the good months for tourism, which this year has shown a noticeable fluctuation due to rising prices and a somewhat faded image of Albania, related to the lack of water and power outages in some regions./ Monitor
