Prime Minister Edi Rama, through a post on his social networks, also using an artificial intelligence photo, continued the debate with his public responses to British MP Nigel Farage.
The latter previously claimed that he had won a bet with Prime Minister Rama over Albanian immigrants, as, according to him, 1 in 50 Albanians in the United Kingdom is in prison. And in turn, the Prime Minister replied that he was inviting him to come to Albania.
The British MP declared "victory", while the Prime Minister again held his hand "outstretched".
CNA has reported on several English lobbying companies, who appear as law firms and lawyers and issue press releases regarding Mayor Erion Veliaj, who is in Durrës prison, arrested by SPAK, with at least 13 charges proven so far in two instances of the court, for the security measure, and the 14th one that has been published by CNA, a decision of the Administrative Court, which confirms the abuse of office by Veliaj. ( READ HERE )
There was also a third Englishman, Alastair Campbell. The latter also held public positions on Erion Veliaj. ( READ HERE )
So, both of these "Englishmen" of Erion Veliaj, in their public positions, have had a declaration:
"The Mayor of Tirana is being held in prison unjustly because there is no charge."
If the allegations are proven, said Alastair Campbell, this would be something very serious.
It is understood that they are lobbying groups, they receive money. But what kind of lobbying will these people do?! They are not appearing as a law firm because the two lawyers are going to the hearings, while we have not seen the English ones yet, as happened with another person who went to the doors of SPAK and then turned back, but the damage to the image that is being done to Albania is the same.
First of all, with lobbyists saying that there are high-level politicians unjustly arrested. This is a lie!
There is no high-level politician who has been arrested unjustly and without a court decision. Even for Erion Veliaj, the Appeal of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo has confirmed that the arrest was legal and that the evidence was tampered with. The wiretaps from the Durrës prison also came out, which proved everything.
But the lobbyists and the law firm, or Alastair Campbell, with their public stances are damaging the image of Albania. They are damaging it precisely because they say that "a senior official has been unjustly arrested and is being held in prison. He should remain in office, exercise his functions."
When a mayor is found guilty of 13 charges, including 4 serious criminal offenses, how can the truthfulness of all of this be questioned?
The damage they are doing to Albania is to justice. Precisely to what British taxpayers have funded. They have poured hundreds of thousands of pounds, perhaps millions, into a justice reform, to have the SPAK structure, the GJKKO, people with integrity who do not stop, not even in front of such lobbying studios or advisors' podcasts, which are nothing more than pressure exerted on Albanian justice.
They indirectly attack the justice institutions, sending a message that they are doing an injustice, when in fact, the charges and criminal offenses are there, the court decisions are there, and the investigations are ongoing. And Erion Veliaj is not the first case.
We have not had these reactions either for Ilir Meta, or for Sali Berisha, or for other deputies and politicians, or mayors of municipalities of the Socialist Party, who have been handcuffed precisely before official charges have been filed, but during the investigation phase the facts and evidence have been found. And there are many of them.
One of these people who is influencing the image of Albania is the British MP Nigel Farage. He is also doing the same damage to our country and the image of Albanians, saying that 1 in 50 Albanians is in prison.

This figure is not true, it is not fair, without taking into account how many Albanians are in the United Kingdom, how they entered with documents, how they were registered, with other nationalities, how they were able to become official there and obtain residence permits.
There are many Albanians who have gone with regular documents obtained in European countries, such as Italy, Greece, and others, where the largest number of Albanian immigrants is, who then, especially after the Greek and Italian crises, the economic crises, moved towards Britain or Germany.
Maybe they have found a way to return the money to their country. On the other hand, the British MP, in the debate with Rama, is also doing this.
The Prime Minister is trying to protect his country's image. With an "outstretched" hand, he invites you to come to Albania.
In fact, this is how they know Albania from the outside. When they come and touch it, it changes quite a bit.
But the damage is done day after day, hour after hour, stance after stance, statement after statement, whether by such British MPs or by lobbying companies run by corrupt politicians who want to escape prison by damaging the country's image.
And in this case, the damage that is done and the bill is paid only by Albania!/CNA
