Denunciation: Deputy Mayor with construction firm/ Sulaj reaction to CNA: I am

Blendi Sulaj was elected deputy mayor for territory and rural development management at the end of July.

These moves came as part of a refresh of local leadership, requested by Prime Minister Edi Rama during a meeting with the leaders of the Tirana District.

In fact, Blendi Sulaj is also known for his jumps from one side to another. Previously, Blendi Sulaj held the position of vice-chairman of the Republican Party. Later, he joined Lulzim Basha's side as the head of the FRPD.

Today he has left the Socialist Party and has been appointed to the position of Deputy Mayor of Tirana.

Recently, the CNA editorial office received a complaint stating that Blendi Sulaj is the administrator of a construction company called Asinvestment.

A company registered in May 2021 located at “Haxhi Hysen Dalliu” Street, Property No. 2/180, Cadastral Zone No. 8350, Unit No. 9.

According to the complaint, Sulaj was in a conflict of interest.

CNA verified the case by checking the records at the Central Bank of Kosovo. According to them, Blendi Sulaj has been appointed and removed several times as administrator of this company.

But in July 2025, Sulaj left and Fiqiri Haxhiaj was appointed in his place.

CNA further contacted Mr. Sulaj to ask him about the construction firm.

In his response to CNA, Mr. Sulaj emphasized:

"You can easily understand whether I am or am not the administrator of this company. I will tell you this and from a legal point of view, as if I were the administrator of a private company, because I come from the business field and for the first time I have the duty to be part of the state functionary duties and the important thing is that the company that I am talking about, as if I were, I am not, the important thing is that the company that I am is not in any conflict of interest with the Municipality of Tirana. So this is what I am trying to explain to you, I am not the administrator of that company, you can see it, you can verify it, look at the historical extract and you can see that I am not the administrator of that company".

In this way, Mr. Sulaj has denied having a conflict of interest or having any connection with any construction company, in this case Asinvestment. / CNA
