A denunciation was made this Thursday regarding the payments for the non-existent incinerator of Tirana.

During the speech at the protest against Erion Veliaj, Tedi Blushi of PL said that the Municipality of Tirana is following the payments.

He stated that the Municipality of Tirana gives 80 thousand euros per day for the existing incinerator.

"330 million euros is the budget of the municipality, or 1 million euros a day, this institution has a budget to spend for this city, to provide more services, to guarantee drinking water, schools, good roads, and every service including even those few flower gardens that have unfortunately turned into construction sites for drug towers.

The only service that Erion Veliaj has guaranteed for 3 terms at the head of this municipality is precisely the advancement of the trash affair. It is the only service that continues without any hindrance, not even from justice, that still does not continue to stop payments for a service that is not performed.

But while 80,000 euros a day go into the pockets of the owners of the actual incinerator of Tirana, the Municipal Council does not meet to distribute alms to families in need. This institution gives 1,200 old lek per day to the most needy citizens of this municipality.

80 thousand euros per day is paid for a service that is not performed. Can we tolerate that this mayor gets rich with your taxes and sweat and meanwhile you suffer for drinking water in 2024", said Blushi./ CNA
